The City of Panama City Beach Audit Committee is currently soliciting volunteers to serve in two vacant seats.
The Committee, which was established in 2014 by Resolution 15-05, assists the City Council when selecting an auditor to conduct the annual financial audit, reviews the annual audit, and performs other duties in accordance with Section 218.391 of the Florida Statutes.
Qualifications: Board members shall possess a basic understanding of governmental financial reporting and auditing, and accounting or related financial management expertise evidenced by one or more of the following: a) an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statements, b) experience in preparing or auditing financial statements of comparable entities, or c) experience with internal accounting controls. City employees may not be appointed to serve on the audit committee.
Board members serve in a voluntary capacity and should be available to meet on an as-needed basis at City Hall, 17007 Panama City Beach Parkway. All meetings are advertised and open to the public.
